Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson is currently the Director of Jazz Studies at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.  Wilson is an alumnus of the world renowned University of North Texas where he taught courses in jazz theory and composed for & performed in the internationally acclaimed One O'Clock Lab Band. He is also the founder of the on-line Jazz Education Store. Scott Wilson's jazz theory text books and jazz flash cards have been used by the International Association for Jazz Education for their Teacher Training Institutes

Wilson has diverse international performance credits and has served as Musical Director for Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, Japan; Musical Director for Grand Link World in Qingdao, China; and has been a featured jazz trumpet soloist for Walt Disney in Tokyo, Japan.   Wilson has performed and worked with numerous jazz artists including Wayne Bergeron, Eric Miyashiro and Roger Ingram, Conrad Herwig, Wycliffe Gordan, Shelly Berg, Steve Smith, Denis Deblasio, Greg Bissonette, Brian Bromberg, John Beasley, Carl Allen, Peter Erskine, Eric Marienthal, Bobby Shew, Slide Hampton, Sam Rivers, Terrell Stafford, Dick Oats, Brandon Fields, Lew Soloff, Ron Blake, Ben Wolfe, Terreon Gully, John Pizzerelli, Chris Slade, Ed Shaughnessy, Dave Loeb, Tom Warrington, Steve Marcus, Jeff Campbell, Andy Fusco, Baron Browne, Mark Soskin, Jeff Coffin, Chris Buono, Rashawn Ross, Dan Haerle, Bruce Paulson, Neil Slater, Corey Christiansen, Ted Rosenthal, Marvin Stamm, Fred Hamilton, and Horace Silver. 

Scott also has played and recorded with MINDWALK, an original 5-piece music ensemble whose Contemporary Jazz sound includes elements of Funk, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Latin. From their latest CD release, the track "Kings For Carly" has been selected by Jazziz Magazine to garnish their nationally distributed jazz compilation CD. Mindwalk has opened concerts for such diverse artists as Spyro Gyra, Acoustic Alchemy, Jon Secada, The Rippingtons, Richard Elliott, Joan Osbourne, BB King, The Yellowjackets, Steve Morse Band, Less Than Jake, Maceo Parker, Steve Reid & Bamboo Forest, House of Dreams, Steel Pulse, Widespread Panic, Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters,Col. Bruce Hampton, Kenny Wayne Shepard, The Roots, Sister Hazel, Daryle Singeltary, Les Dudek, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones.

Scott keeps an active international performance schedule and is in demand as a producer, recording artist, consultant, and clinician.
