Alive Music Orchestra

Thus, Alive Music Orchestra (AMO), a not-for-profit organization, was formed, with all members dedicated to American Jazz, their passionate mission, and their ministry performing encouraging jazz praise, favorite jazz standards, and providing musician jazz mentorship for our youth and educating the public about the real “Genesis of Jazz.”

Several professional AMO musicians and regular AMO guests have performed with such artist as: Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, as well as George Benson,  The Four Tops, Pete Escovedo, Freddie Hubbard, Bill Evans, Jaime Davis (Vocalist for Count Basie Orchestra), Mark Little (Grammy nominee winner) and Richie Cole.

Alive Music Orchestra has performed live on television, during National Day of Prayer, with Dave Boyer, a guest vocalist for Ralph Carmichael's Big Band.  Members of the group have also performed for audiences at amusement parks such as Marine World Six Flags and Disneyland, which led to guest appearances on Christian Television (CBN), network television. The orchestra recently performed with the renowned jazz vocalist Clairdee, during the 2004 VJ Festival.

Alive Music Orchestra has other musical talents, vocalist called " Singers In Harmony." This ensemble is able to bring to the orchestra a new dimension in swing, contemporary, & gospel music. Michelle Seaton, Art & Julie Stout Martha Stout, Chris Grokenberger, and Pastor Frank Salamone of Cornerstone Baptist Church have consistently blessed the group with their voices. The other exciting group is Keith Stout's AMO Brass Band. A small group for smaller settings performing favorite pop standards & “Sacred Jazz.” Their exceptional talents and heart are used for their ministry engagements" which have encouraged their listeners as well as the musicians performing for weddings, celebrities, patriotic events, Christian events & Churches. Be sure not to miss AMO’s 14th Annual Christmas Show in December at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater.

Their list of engagements indicates that they have excelled at not only their own concerts, musical productions and drama presentations, but provided benefits ranging from fundraising for Mission Solano Rescue Mission, during last years Gospel Jazz Sunday, school music fundraising, to performing for the U.S. Military’s Jimmy Doolittle Air Museum fundraiser at Travis AFB.T

In the early 1980's Band Leader Keith Stout and his associates began to envision a big band dedicated to the expression of American Jazz Music, Gospel and Christian Contemporary, educating the public about about where, “jazz roots” came from, and they discovered that these roots came from the southern black churches.  Since many of the current standard jazz forms we hear today originated in Jazz and Gospel music, they have put together a program that envelops many different Jazz styles that appeal to all age groups.

The Vaca Jazz Society, Inc.“VJS” was founded by AMO Director Keith Stout, six years ago, which presents the Annual Vacaville Jazz & Gospel Festivals every third weekend in September, located at the SF North Bay Area, Vacaville California, diligently continuing their “Free” 6th Annual Jazz & Gospel Festival on Friday, Saturday, and Gospel Jazz Sunday, September 16th, 17th, and 18th. One of last free Jazz & Gospel Festivals in the North Bay Area.

Since their formation the Award Winning AMO group has put together several recordings. In 1993, their first effort resulted in the recording called, "Down by the Riverside." More recently, they have recorded a second big band CD " AMO Live,” plus a small group combo CD which includes standards and original “sacred jazz” compositions.
