Bob Barrett is a former instructor with the Dick Grove
School of Music in Los Angeles, and is currently Minister of Instrumental
Music at Saddleback Church, Mission Viejo, CA. His main instrument is
keyboards but he is a masterful arranger as well. He has written three
excellent instructional books that are full of practical useful information.
Using some of the finest West
Coast musicians, and employing his own unique arranging style, Saddleback
Church instrumental director Bob Barrett has created a phenomenal collection of hymns on the new CD "Caliente". "I Stand
Amazed" is a Brazilian Samba, "I Surrender All" is set to a
Caribbean Reggae style, and "A Mighty Fortress" in a contemporary
jazz setting are all designed to inspire the creative spirit in each of us.
Bob shares, " At Saddleback, part of our strategy is to begin each
service with an atmosphere of celebration. For the CD "Caliente" I
chose Latin styles for most of the songs on this project".
